Names of the country's top 100 AI influencers announced, Anil Kapoor's inclusion in the list is surprising | News India

Time Magazine Most Influential People in AI 2024 list: Time Magazine has released a list of the world's top 100 AI influential people for the year 2024. This list includes the most influential people in the field of artificial intelligence. It includes people working in the field of AI and developing infrastructure. However, people are surprised by the announcement of the name of actor Anil Kapoor from India. This list includes the name of Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. The magazine highlighted Ashwini Vaishnav's role in India's AI strategy.

The reason behind including Anil Kapoor's name

The magazine has also included Anil Kapoor in its list. It is written that, 'Anil Kapoor, with the help of AI, won a case in the New Delhi High Court in September against a person who looked, sounded and behaved exactly like him. So Anil Kapoor has got a place in this list not as a synonym for AI but as an influencer who introduced real AI. The court had ruled against various websites and platforms in this case.

Anil's lawyer used his client's photo, voice and his famous dialogue “Jakkas” in court to make him a motivational speaker with the help of AI. Along with charging a fee for using his photo, it was reported that the photo had been objectionably modified and the image was being sold unofficially with a fake autograph and the catchphrase “Zakas”.

The magazine wrote about him, 'Under the leadership of Ashwini Vaishnav, India is expected to be among the top 5 semiconductor manufacturing countries in the next 5 years. This is an essential component for modern AI systems. It has already started in many factories.

'So far, Ashwini Vaishnav has faced many challenges with this ambition. India's tech sector is struggling with low private R&D investment and a lack of an advanced manufacturing ecosystem. The education system is also accelerating the preparation of the specialized workforce needed for advanced AI and semiconductor development.

Nandan Nilekani also included

The name of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani is also included. The magazine wrote about him, 'Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani has spent more than 15 years working inside and outside the government to build digital public infrastructure in the world's most populous country.'

Kalika Bali, research head of Microsoft Research India, is also included in this list of 100 people. Apart from this, the names of Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang are included in this list.
