NEW YORK: A Palestinian-American Muslim nurse has been fired from a New York hospital after she called Israel's ongoing assault on the Gaza war a “genocide.”
In fact, this nurse was so thorough and caring in delivering and caring for newborns that the New York State Department of Health decided to give her an award for it. But while accepting the award, the nurse said in her acceptance speech that Israel is committing “genocide” in the Gaza war. So she was fired from her job.
The nurse was gaining fame for comforting young women whose husbands had died but were already pregnant. However, while accepting the award she had sharply criticised Israel and called it a 'genocide' in Gaza, after which she was discharged from the hospital.
A hospital spokesman said that she had often said this to anyone since the Gaza war began, especially women coming in for deliveries. Despite repeated warnings not to do so, she refused to do so and was dismissed from her job.
