Ministry of State and Frontier Region in Pakistan will be dissolved, preparation for merger | News India

Islamabad, 07 October (HIST). The Government of Pakistan has decided to dissolve the Ministry of States and Frontier Regions. The government has indicated that it will be merged into the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to ARY News Channel, the government took this decision after the recommendation of a high-powered committee. Also, the administrative branch of the Ministry of State and Frontier Regions will be dissolved and a special committee will be formed to decide the future of Jammu and Kashmir state properties. The sale of properties will be as per requirement and the revenue generated will be spent on the welfare of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Apart from this, the Health Services Directorate of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will be reviewed. Its control can be given to the Azad Kashmir government. Funds for the directorate will be managed in consultation with the Ministry of Health. Importantly, there is a preparation to disband the Jammu and Kashmir Refugee Rehabilitation Organization. Staff will be cut in the Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan councils, as well as the Office of the Chief Commissioner, which works for Afghan refugees.
