Due to buying in midcap and smallcap stocks, Nifty Midcap index closed with a gain of 121 points and Small Cap index with a gain of 211 points.

Out of 30 shares on BSE, 9 closed with gains while 21 shares closed with decline. While out of 50 Nifty stocks, 18 closed with gains and 30 with decline and there was no change in two stocks.
Among the gainers, ICICI Bank 1.95 percent, Bharti Airtel 1.26 percent, Asian Paints 1.20 percent, Adani Ports 0.71 percent, UltraTech Cement 0.68 percent, HCL Tech 0.58 percent, closed with a gain of 72 percent.
Declining stocks include Bajaj Finance 2.47 percent, Reliance 2.05 percent, Tata Steel 1.58 percent, Tech Mahindra 1.07 percent, Tata Motors 1.01 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.80 percent.
