Many trains including Triveni were cancelled due to waterlogging on the railway track

Bareilly, 08 July (HS). Railway traffic has also been disrupted due to the continuous heavy rain in the district. Due to this, Izzatnagar Railway Division has cancelled all trains on Lal Kuan, Pilibhit-Tanakpur-Shahgarh-Mailani route. Apart from this, many trains have been short terminated.

According to the information, 17 trains including Triveni Express have been cancelled. After the cancellation of Triveni Express, the passengers had to return to their homes after waiting at the junction. Railway officials say that due to continuous rain on Sunday, Monday, the railway route has been obstructed due to waterlogging on Khatima Tanakpur, Shahgarh – Lal Kuan Mailani route, due to which trains have been cancelled. Videos have also gone viral on social media in which the tracks are seen swinging in the air due to the filling of mud.

Izzatnagar division's chief public relations officer Rajendra Singh says that the railway administration is fully alert on the torrential rains in the hilly and plain areas served by Izzatnagar division for the last three-four days and the railway administration's first focus is on train movement on the division. In this rainy season, the water level of rivers is being measured on important bridges. The water level on the railway bridges is being monitored 24 hours a day through modern water level monitoring system on Ganga, Yamuna and Devha of Izzatnagar division, Kachla bridge number 409 built on Ganga river between Badaun-Kasganj railway section, bridge number 104 built on Koshi river between Lalkuan-Kashipur railway section, bridge number 270 built on Devha river between Pilibhit-Bhojipura railway section, bridge number 554 built on Yamuna river between Kasganj-Mathura railway section. As soon as information of rising water level is received, immediate action is being taken.

These trains were cancelled
05062 Tanakpur-Mathura Cantonment passenger train 05061 Mathura Cantonment-Tanakpur passenger train 25035/25036 Ramnagar-Moradabad-Ramnagar Express train 15074 Tanakpur-Singrauli Express 12035 Tanakpur-Delhi Express 05097 Tanakpur-Daurai Express and 15036/15035 Kathgodam-Delhi-Kathgodam Express trains were cancelled. Among the passenger trains, 05341/05342 Pilibhit-Tanakpur-Pilibhit passenger train was cancelled. Along with this, 05336 Kasganj-Kashipur, 05383/05384 Lalkuan-Kashipur-Lalkuan, 05331/05332 Lalkuan-Moradabad-Lalkuan train, 05409/05410 Kashipur-Ramnagar-Kashipur, 05409/05410 Kashipur-Ramnagar-Kashipur train, 05391 Pilibhit-Tanakpur, 05392 Tanakpur-Pilibhit, 05394/05393 Tanakpur-Pilibhit-Tanakpur passenger trains were cancelled.

Among the express, 05019 Dehradun-Tanakpur Express was short terminated at Pilibhit. 13019 Howrah- Kathgodam Express was short terminated at Rudrapur City. 12040 New Delhi Kathgodam Express was short terminated at Rudrapur City, 12208 Jammu Tawi-Kathgodam Express was short-terminated at Rudrapur City, 15075 Shaktinagar-Tanakpur Express, 12036 Delhi-Tanakpur Express, 15043 Lucknow-Kathgodam Express were short-terminated at Pantnagar. 05321 Bareilly City-Tanakpur DEMU was short terminated at Majhola Pakriya, 05322 Tanakpur-Bareilly City DEMU was short terminated at Majhola Pakriya, 05369 Kasganj-Lalkuan at Kichha, 05351 Bareilly City-Kashipur DEMU was short terminated at Pantnagar. 05363 Moradabad-Lalkuan passenger train was short terminated at Bajpur, 05335 Kashipur-Kasganj train was short terminated at Gularbhoj, 05401 Bareilly City-Lalkuan train was short terminated at Baheri.
