Gorakhpur, 27 August (HS). In just three years of its establishment, Mahayogi Gorakhnath University has become a centre for special and employment-oriented courses in eastern Uttar Pradesh. In this short span, the university has a long list of achievements to its credit, the most recent of which is the recognition of MBBS course. BAMS studies are being conducted since the first year of its establishment, and from this session, MBBS admission process will be completed after NEET counseling and studies will be started here. Apart from conducting many new employment-oriented courses, the university also has a wide range of MoUs with many reputed institutions for research. The third foundation day celebration of this university will be celebrated on Wednesday, in which former Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof. DP Singh will be present as the chief guest.
Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, inaugurated by the then President Ram Nath Kovind on 28 August 2021, has become famous as a special and major center of employment-oriented education in just three years. Here, the preservation and promotion of Indian knowledge values is being done in a research-based manner keeping in mind the present and future times. In the perspective of the National Education Policy, the courses here are such that are beneficial for the society, easily employable for the students. The Chancellor of this university (Gorakshapeethadhiswar and Chief Minister) Yogi Adityanath intends to make Gorakhpur famous as a 'Knowledge City' by 2032. Let us tell you here that on 10 December 2018, the then President Ram Nath Kovind, who came to the Founder's Week celebration of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad, had called for making Gorakhpur a Knowledge City by 2032, the centenary year of the council.
The university is the embodiment of the ideas of the two late Mahants of Gorakshapeeth
The foundation of this university is based on the thoughts of Yugpurush Brahmleen Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj and Rashtrasant Brahmleen Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj, who believed that education is the most powerful medium for freedom from slavery, self-reliance and social development. The current Gorakshapeethadhiswar and Chancellor Yogi Adityanath is the bearer of this ideological tradition. Under his guidance, the aim of this university is to promote value-added, employment-oriented education in the light of Indian knowledge and wisdom, which can nurture social and national interests in a holistic manner. Taking steps towards this goal, BAMS studies are being successfully conducted in Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, Guru Gorakhnath Institute of Medical Sciences. MBBS classes are also going to start here from this session. In Guru Shri Gorakhnath College of Nursing alone, a dozen employment-oriented courses are being run at full capacity. The university runs two dozen courses ranging from diploma to master related to medical science, nursing, paramedical, agriculture, allied health sciences and pharmacy. All the courses here are employment oriented and are in great demand.
In the field of education, medical treatment, agricultural research, employment and rural development, Mahayogi Gorakhnath University has signed MoUs with International Rice Research Institute, Lumbini Buddhist University Nepal, South Bihar Central University, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, AIIMS Gorakhpur, KGMU Lucknow, RMRC Gorakhpur, Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University, Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Indian Entrepreneurship Development Institute Ahmedabad, Vaidyanath Ayurveda, Indo-European Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Lucknow, National Botanical Research Institute, National Bureau of Agriculturally Useful Microorganisms, Indian Institute of Seed Science, Jubilant Agriculture Rural Development Society, Logistics Sector Skill Council etc. Through these MoUs, world-class research in different fields as well as startups will be promoted.
