
In Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, a new scheme has started rapidly on a new scheme to provide relief from traffic jams, pollution and road accidents. Now preparations are being made to construct a 145 km long State Capital Ring Road (SCRR) after Outer Ring Road. This ring road will be particularly for cargo and heavy vehicles, reducing traffic pressure within the city.
Key features of the project
- The 145 km long road will be prepared for heavy vehicles like trucks, trailers, containers.
- There will be no restriction on a two -wheeler such as light vehicles, but its main objective is to get heavy vehicles out of the city.
- This ring road will be connected to Kisan Path, Agra Expressway, and other highways and expressways in the SCR region.
- The project will provide relief to the city of Lucknow from traffic jams and air-ridiculing pollution.
Big step towards change in city
This proposal will form the basis of a smart traffic model for the city of Lucknow.
- The construction of SCRR after the already built outer ring road in the capital is an important initiative towards making the city free from traffic and pollution -free.
- This will provide the facility to take out heavy vehicles coming from Lucknow and surrounding areas like Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Kanpur and Hardoi without entering the city.
Administrative preparations begin for project
- This proposal has been sent to Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and Housing Development Council under the representation of Defense Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh.
- The letter states that the concerned departments should jointly survey and prepare a proposal for the construction of the project.
- The LDA and the Housing Development Council have started the survey process.
- As soon as the proposal is prepared, it will be sent to the MP and the process of approval will be started.
