State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said that on March 31, liquor, drugs and cash worth Rs 308.44 lakh were seized by the Excise, Income Tax, Police and Narcotics Department and other enforcement agencies. In this, Rs 79.84 lakh in cash, 27759.52 liters of liquor worth Rs 71.67 lakh, 86271.91 grams of drugs worth Rs 156.78 lakh and other material worth Rs 0.15 lakh were seized.

State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said on Monday that liquor, drugs, precious metals, free gifts and cash etc. worth Rs 10272.13 lakh were seized by the Excise, Income Tax, Police and Narcotics Department and other enforcement agencies from March 1 to March 31. Were done. In this, Rs 1821.60 lakh in cash, 720616.60 liters of liquor worth Rs 2485.21 lakh, 5681938.59 grams of drugs worth Rs 4073.16 lakh, 41010.24 grams of precious metals worth Rs 1779.21 lakh, free gifts worth Rs 0.43 lakh and other materials worth Rs 112.51 lakh were seized. It is noteworthy that with the Election Commission of India announcing the election dates of Lok Sabha General Election-2024 on March 16, the Model Code of Conduct is effective in the entire state to conduct free, fair, peaceful, fear-free, inducement-free, inclusive and safe voting in the state. .

Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Navdeep Rinwa said that the major seizure on March 31 included 300 grams of drug with an estimated value of Rs 15 lakh in Barabanki Assembly Constituency, 100 grams of drug with an estimated value of Rs 20 Lakh in Duddhi Assembly Constituency of Sonbhadra District, 250 grams of drug with an estimated value of Rs 50 lakh was seized in Obra assembly constituency and 172 grams of drug with an estimated value of Rs 34.40 lakh was seized in Isauli assembly constituency of Sultanpur district. Apart from this, cash amounting to Rs 51.50 lakh was seized in Mughalsarai assembly constituency of Chandauli district and Rs 23.19 lakh in Garhmukteshwar assembly constituency of Hapur district.
