Korba 24 August (HS). The daily routine of Pahari Korwa youth Dukhuram has changed. After getting a job from the state government, a new dream has started to take shape. A few years ago, due to lack of employment, the whole day was spent in collecting fruits and flowers like fodder, tendu, mahua etc. in the forests. One had to struggle to satisfy hunger. In such a situation, living a normal life was just a dream. But Pahari Korwa Dukhuram had not even thought that this dream would turn into reality one day. The initiative of the state government has brought him to such a position today that now he does not want to go down in history. After getting a government job, Pahari Korwa Dukhuram, who has got rid of his sorrows, has started thinking about improving his future as well as the future of his children. The job has not only changed Dukhuram's life, his family including his wife has also started enjoying life.
Presently, Dukhuram, a Pahari Korwa youth living in Pendridih village of Korba development block, has been given a job as an assistant teacher by the Chhattisgarh government. He teaches children in the government primary school of Aamadan village located in Shyang-Amaldih, a remote area of Korba headquarters. Dukhuram said that he reaches school on time. His relatives live in Pendridih, so he lives here. He said that initially, he found it difficult to do the job because he was used to living in the forest. But gradually the habit changed and by living in the school environment, the hesitation in working also started disappearing.
It is noteworthy that the state government, through the Tribal Development Department, from time to time works to change the standard of living of the members of the special backward tribal families residing in the district by linking them to government jobs on the basis of their qualifications. Pahadi Korwa Dukhuram is also a part of these efforts. On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Collector Ajit Vasant has not only taken the initiative to provide employment in schools and hospitals on honorarium basis to the Pahadi Korwas who have acquired education from 8th to higher level in the direction of upliftment of a large number of PVTGs residing in Korba district through DMF, but has also taken steps towards creating a better future for everyone and connecting the coming generations to the mainstream of society. Members of special backward tribal families have got jobs from DMF in Korba district.
Life style changed due to job- After joining government service, there has been a lot of change in the lifestyle of Korwa youth Dukhuram. As a teacher, there has been a change in his dressing and his behaviour among school students. After joining the job, as he gets salary on time every month, his financial condition has also started improving. Dukhuram told that he saves some amount of his salary so that he can make a future for his children in the coming times. Dukhuram, who got married just two years ago, said that he was also fond of riding motorcycles and mobile phones. After getting the job, he has fulfilled his hobby of motorcycle and mobile; now soon he will bring TV and other essential items to his house as well.
