Karate: Players from Uttar Pradesh made a mark by winning 10 gold medals on the first day | News India

Lucknow, 24 August (HS). The players of host Uttar Pradesh performed brilliantly on the first day of the WMSKF All India Karate Championship and made their presence felt by winning 10 gold medals. Soni Kumari of Rajasthan and Riya of Punjab also won gold.

Riya Tomar and Priyanka of Uttar Pradesh Police also achieved golden success in this championship organized in Lalji Tandon Multipurpose Hall of Chowk Stadium by World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation, Uttar Pradesh under the aegis of World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation, India. Joshika Pandey, Saumya Kushwaha, Abhishek Singh, Ajay Patel, Sunny Gautam, Ayushi, Ishika Gupta, Vaidik Singh, Satyam Yadav, Tulika Sharma won gold medals for Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

This championship was inaugurated by chief guest Engr. Yogesh Kumar (Director-Commercial, Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited) and special guests Dr. Kirti Vikram Singh (Deputy Director, Indira Gandhi National Open University, Lucknow) and Durgesh Kumar Tripathi (National President, Youth Department Ekal Abhiyan, Ekal Future). The function was presided over by President of Karate Association of UP TP Havelia. While Secretary of World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation, Uttar Pradesh Santosh Kumar welcomed the teams. On this occasion President of World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation, India Jaspal Singh also sent best wishes to the players participating in the championship.
