Mirzapur, August 12 (HS). The second sub-committee of the Joint Secretary Committee on Women and Child Development of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly constituted by the government, Neelima Katiyar and members Salona Kushwaha, Manoj Kumar Prajapati, Babulal Kushwaha and Rama Niranjan celebrated the Kanya Janmotsav program at the District Women's Hospital on Monday.
In the district women's hospital, the birthdays of the newborn girls born during the past week were celebrated by cutting the cake with their hands. On this occasion, baby kits, baby beds, certificates and two sanitary napkin sets were distributed to the mothers of 25 newborn girls as gifts. The committee members gave a message to the general public and parents saying, 'Congratulations, a daughter was born in your house'.
The committee members said that daughters play an important role in the progress of society. The Kanya Janmotsav program of the Uttar Pradesh government is a new initiative aimed at preventing female foeticide, child marriage, child trafficking, child abuse, etc. which are prevalent as a stigma in society. Through this, people of every class, every caste should pay attention to the safety and protection of girls and respect them. This initiative should start from the parents only.
