Kanpur: Three killed, two injured in collision between car and truck


Kanpur, 27 April (Hindustan Reporter). A car and a truck collided while overtaking on Saturday near Kanpur Sagar Highway Madhav Bagh in Bidhnu police station area. Three people traveling in the car died in the accident and the condition of two people is critical. Police are taking action after taking possession of the dead bodies.

Deputy Commissioner of Police South Ravindra Kumar said that car driver Pankaj Verma (34), resident of Digrua village of Fatehpur district, Hushanara (45) and Habib (85), resident of Jehanabad of the same district, died in the accident. Treatment of Hashim and Aman is going on in the accident.

He told that all the above people were going from Jehanabad to Kanpur city via Ghatampur in a car on Saturday afternoon. The car collided with a dumper going from Naubasta towards Ghatampur while overtaking near Madhav Bagh on Kanpur Sagar Highway. Five people traveling in the car were injured in the accident. The police team reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and immediately admitted all the injured to CHC Bidhnu for treatment. Where doctors declared three people including the car driver dead. On the other hand, as soon as the news of the accident was received, the family members also reached the spot in a dejected state.
