Kannauj: DM-SP praised the product being made at the jail's skill development center | News India

Kannauj, 31 August (HS). District Magistrate Shubhrant Kumar Shukla and Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand jointly inspected the district jail. During the inspection, the items being made in the Skill Development Centre were seen. They praised the arrangements in the jail, especially the items being made in the Skill Development Centre, such as the glittering chandelier lights and cloth carry bags being made by the prisoners. A lot of enthusiasm was seen towards the chandeliers being made by the prisoners.

During the inspection, the prisoners (male and female) lodged in the barracks of all the prison premises were questioned about their problems, the barracks were searched, no prohibited item was found during the search. The district officials questioned the prisoners about their problems related to food, water, accommodation, day/night toilets, working/non-working of fans according to the weather, harassment by someone, not getting a lawyer, meeting and treatment etc. but no prisoner told about any problem related to the prison.

The relatives of the prisoners were also talked to and asked about any problems faced during the meeting but they did not report any problem. The kitchen was also inspected. The food prepared was checked. The quality was found to be satisfactory. Adequate cleanliness was found in the prison. During the inspection, the functioning of the equipment related to the security system of the jail, especially the CCTV cameras, was observed. Instructions were given to get the non-functional cameras repaired immediately and to keep the cameras functional all the time and to monitor them all the time. During the inspection in the hospital, the medical officer was instructed not to show any kind of negligence in the treatment of sick prisoners. Keep a special watch on the old and disabled prisoners imprisoned in the prison and ensure proper treatment by examining them regularly. No irregularities of any kind were found during the inspection. The prison office was also found to be organized.

During the inspection, Jail Superintendent Mohd. Akram Khan, Jailor Vijay Kumar Shukla, Deputy Jailor Rambhal Dubey, Deputy Jailor Urmila Singh, Deputy Jailor Asha Devi Pandey, Medical Officer Dr. Mohd. Ifraq, Chief Office Superintendent in Charge Pankaj Kumar, Education Teacher Manoj Kumar Katiyar along with all the administrative staff were present.
