Prayagraj, 07 June (HS). This feeling will arise when we are alive. Only then will there be a true tribute to the martyrs. We have to remain dedicated to the nation while respecting the feelings of the martyrs.
These words were said by Justice Kshitij Shailesh of Allahabad High Court. In the memory of the first independence day of Allahabad from 7 June to 16 June 1857, 'Jaara Yaad Karo Qurbani' festival was organized under the aegis of Regional Archives and Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, under the Khusrubag banyan tree on Friday.
While paying tribute to the martyrs, the Justice said that we should rise above our daily routine and always think about the country, the poor, the nation, how the country's wealth can be protected and how development can take place. This feeling has to be created.
He said that the children of the country will have to move out of the world of internet and move towards the world of books. Only then the duty of sacrifice and service to the country will not go in vain. Through Shayari, he said, 'By remembering the martyrs, we are truly alive, otherwise we would have been dead.'
Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant said that first of all I bow to the soil, I bow to my ancestors. Bharat Bhagya Vidhata team has beautifully woven Vedic, medieval and modern history. The mythological identity has been revived. I am with this campaign. By remembering the ancestors, the honor of the martyr families has been increased. By displaying those who sacrificed for the independence of the country in Shaheedwal, the work of increasing the respect of Indian martyrs has been done.
Shaheedwal founder and program coordinator Virendra Pathak said that Hindus and Muslims united in the first freedom struggle in Allahabad. Our ancestors jumped into the freedom struggle. He said that our ancestors did not fight for pension and allowances. They sacrificed to free the country. 1857 was the battle between our ancestors and the British. Our ancestors sacrificed for freedom from slavery. At that time, when the British got martyred, they were buried with respect. But there was no trace of Indians. The British started the policy of divide and rule from here and were ruling India. Against this, our ancestors united and fought against the British.
He told that the people had gained freedom of Allahabad by revolting. Prayagraj was free for ten days. This Khusru Bagh was the headquarters of freedom. Indians appointed their officers and ran a proper government. Colonel Neil carried out a massacre in Prayagraj and on 17 June the whole of Allahabad was destroyed. All the houses were set on fire, revolutionaries were killed. No one was left.
GA Ashutosh Sand said that this is the proud story of our ancestors. 90 years before independence, Allahabad was liberated. It was the headquarters of the revolutionaries. He said that there should be a board outside Khusrubag, which should also mention the headquarters of the revolutionaries. The program was conducted by Pramod Shukla and the vote of thanks was given by Krishna Mohan Chaudhary, in-charge Khusrubag.
