Kanpur, May 30 (HS). A journalist is one who has the ability to incorporate public sentiments in his writing. This is why journalism is called the fourth pillar. At present, many dimensions of journalism have developed, but only he is successful who has the ability to understand public interests. Many people who did shallow journalism came and went. Whatever be the platform of journalism, a journalist has to live every moment, has to feel it. One who fails in this, remains unsuccessful in journalism too in the long run. These words were said by senior journalist Jitendra Shukla on Journalism Day at CSJMU on Thursday.

Hindi Journalism Day was organized in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) on Thursday. Senior journalist Jitendra Shukla was present as the keynote speaker in the program.

On this occasion, the students who got placements in the courses BAJMC and MAJMC run in the department were felicitated. In the program, the successful participants of Bharatiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha 2023-24 and the students who were successful in the quiz competition organized by the department were honored with certificates.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Awasthi said that journalism is the just voice of the society. Journalists have the responsibility of this, they should never turn away from this fact. Journalists should always support the truth.

Department Head Dr. Yogendra Kumar Pandey welcomed the guests by presenting them with a shawl and a memento and introduced them. He presented an outline of Hindi Journalism Day and highlighted the importance of this day. Among the students who got placement in the department, Hariom, Nishant, Anoop, Gaurav etc. were welcomed by the guests by giving them mementos and certificates.

On this occasion, the team of students who published the magazine Right Turn run by the department, which included Ayushi Mishra, Ekta Trivedi, Vibhu Bajpai, Sunil Kumar, Divyanshu, Shubhi Saxena, Deepanshu, Sakshi Katiyar, Gyan Prakash Mishra etc. were felicitated. Among the successful students in the quiz competition, Ayushi, Avijita, Saumya and other participating students were encouraged by giving them certificates. Saumya Mishra, a first year BAJMC student, was felicitated by presenting a memento for preserving the progress journey of the university in a booklet. At the same time, the guests rewarded Nitin Gupta, a student of Fine Arts, for painting Hicky Gazette and Udant Martand on the same canvas. All the participants, including Sumit Rajput, the gold medalist student of the Indian Sanskrit Knowledge Examination held in the department, were also felicitated in the program.

On this occasion R.P. Lal, Lal Chandra Vishwakarma, Umesh Chandra Katiyar, Dr. S.B. Singh, Dr. Agnihotri, Dr. Archana Pandey, A.K. Singh, Media Incharge Dr. Vishal Sharma etc were present.
