BCCI: There is a big news related to the current secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Jay Shah. It is being told that he may resign from his post. Elections for the post of chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) are to be held in November this year. According to the report, Jay Shah is planning to present his candidature for this post. Because of this, he may leave the post of BCCI secretary.
According to a report by cricket website Cricbuzz, Jay Shah may stake his claim for the post of ICC President. So far only news has come out in this regard and no decision has been taken yet on whether he wants to take this post or not. New Zealand's Greg Barclay is currently the ICC President. He has been in this position for the last four years and is eligible for another term.
Barclay has taken this responsibility with the support of BCCI. If Jai Shah puts his name in the November election, then he can remove Barclay from the post. However, Jai Shah still has a lot of time to present his name in the election. The ICC's annual meeting is scheduled to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka at the end of this month. This is to be discussed with the ICC President.
Let us tell you that Jay Shah has been associated with Indian cricket since 2009. Before assuming the post of BCCI Secretary, he has served as the Joint Secretary of Gujarat Cricket Association. After joining BCCI in 2015, he was elected Secretary of the Board in September 2019. If he now stands for the post of ICC President, it is expected that he will be elected unopposed.
