Israel carried out several attacks in several areas of central Syria late on Sunday night, in which at least four people were killed. Apart from this, 13 people were injured and a fire also broke out. According to the report of Syria's State News Agency, Syria's Air Defense Force had to face attacks targeting several points in the central region.
4 people were killed and 13 were injured in the attack
The attack damaged a highway in Hama province and sparked a fire that firefighters were still trying to extinguish on Monday morning. Also, at least four dead and 13 wounded people were rushed to Masyaf National Hospital in western Hama province, the agency said, citing hospital chief Faisal Haidar, without saying they were civilians or militants. Britain-based war monitor Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said one of the attacks targeted a scientific research center and other sites in Masyaf where Iranian militias and experts are deployed to develop weapons in Syria.
There was no comment from the Israeli military
Local media also reported attacks around the coastal city of Tartus. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military. Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes on targets in government-controlled parts of war-torn Syria in recent years, but it has rarely acknowledged or discussed these operations.
Hezbollah has been fighting the Israeli army for the past 11 months
The attacks often target Syrian forces or Iran-backed groups. Israel has vowed to prevent Iranian infiltration into Syria, especially since Syria is a major route for Iran to send weapons to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. Hezbollah has been fighting Israeli forces for the past 11 months.
