Beirut, July 31 (HS). Israel carried out an airstrike on Beirut on Tuesday targeting Hezbollah, killing at least one person. With this, Israel's tension with the extremist group Hezbollah active in Lebanon has increased.

The Israeli military said the strike targeted the hideout of a terrorist commander responsible for a rocket attack last weekend in the Golan Heights region under its control that killed 12 children and teenagers, as well as other attacks that killed several Israeli civilians.

Israel blamed Hezbollah for the rocket attack on Majdal Shams city last Saturday. However, the extremist organization has denied its role in the attack. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant wrote in his post on the social media platform 'X' soon after Tuesday's attack, “Hezbollah has crossed its limits.”

Lebanon's state news agency said three rockets were fired in the drone attack, killing one woman and wounding several others, some seriously.

According to the agency, the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Bahman Hospital, located near the blast site, called on people to donate blood.

It was not clear whether the person attacked was killed or injured.

An Israeli air strike on a Hezbollah stronghold south of Beirut on Tuesday evening caused damage, a Hezbollah official said.
