British newspaper The Independent has released the list of 60 best actors of the 21st century. Only names of Indian actors are included in this list. Among the fans of Indian cinema, it is not actor Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh, Aamir or Salman but Irrfan Khan who has found a place in the list of best actors. Irfan is no longer in the world of fans, but his acting continues to be discussed in the country and abroad. Irrfan is ranked 41st in the list of best actors worldwide.
Irrfan came into limelight with the 2001 film The Warrior. After that, Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Haasil, Vishal Bhardwaj’s Maqbool and Mira Nair’s The Namesake gave him recognition as a better actor. However, the artist lost his battle with the disease and passed away in 2020.
A rare disease made the artist its victim
Born on January 7, 1967 in a Pathan Muslim family of Rajasthan, Irrfan Ali Khan was fond of films. After learning acting from the National School of Drama, Irrfan reached Mumbai to make his mark. Just when Irfan was getting a good opportunity to make his career, he suffered from a rare disease. The actor was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumor. This is a rare disease. Irfan stayed in the UK for months for his treatment. It was expected that he would recover and return to the screen but it did not happen.
