Mumbai: Kamal Haasan's film 'Indian 2' has been shortened to 12 minutes five days after its release. Actually, the film received many reviews saying that it has become too long. After this, the makers have taken this decision.

When the film was released, it was three hours and four minutes long. Now after its release, its run time has been reduced to two hours and fifty-two minutes. Earlier, there were talks that about 20 minutes would be cut from the film. However, the filmmakers have officially announced that the film has been cut by 12 minutes from July 17. The makers have also admitted that the decision was taken after several reviews of the film found it to be too long. However, it has not been revealed exactly which scenes have been cut.

Despite having a director like Shankar and an actor like Kamal Haasan, the film did not get the expected response at the box office. The film's earnings in five days are barely 55 crores. Not only the Hindi version, but also the Tamil version did not perform as expected at the box office.

The original 'Indian' film was released in 1996. Its sequel has arrived 28 years later.
