India should warn Sri Lanka against attacking fishermen: Ramadoss

Chennai: PMK founder S. Ramadoss said that the Indian government, which provides financial and military aid to Sri Lanka, should warn Sri Lanka not to attack the fishermen. According to Ramadoss, 55 Indian fishermen detained by Sri Lankan authorities in December 2021 are yet to be released.

On the other hand, Indian fishermen are under attack in the middle of the sea. Ramadoss said that the Indian government should warn the Sri Lankan government to stop its atrocities on Indian fishermen.

Katchatheevu Island is located in the narrow sea that divides the two countries. The sea around the island is rich in marine life. This island was handed over by India to Sri Lanka many years ago.
