This decision has been taken by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). Rohidas was shown a red card during the quarter-final match against Britain. This incident happened in the second quarter of the match. There were about 42 minutes left in the game then. A player from the opposing team was injured by Amit's hockey stick. Playing with 10 players, the Indian hockey team defeated Great Britain and made it to the semi-finals.

India will face Germany in the semi-finals

India will play its next semi-final match against Germany. Germany is currently the world champion of hockey. Amit Rohidas will not be able to play in this match. Amit's ban is a big blow for the Indian team. The defender has started every match for India in the Olympics so far and has been a key player in the team. Amit has more than 10 years of experience. He made his debut for India in 2013. He has played 184 matches so far.

India will play with only 15 players

The International Hockey Federation issued a statement saying, 'Amit Rohidas is suspended for one match for violating the AFIH Code of Conduct. The incident took place during match number M32 between India and Britain on 4 August 2024. This ban will apply to match number M35. Which is to be held on 6 August 2024, in which Amit will not be able to participate. India will play with a team of only 15 players.
