Team India's opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal will have a chance to create history in the fourth Test match of the five-match series against England starting tomorrow in Ranchi. If Jaiswal scores 139 runs in the first innings of the fourth match, he will equal the record of former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli.
Till now, the Indian record of scoring 1000 runs in the fewest innings is in the name of Kambli. Vinod Kambli had completed 1000 runs in 14 innings. Cheteshwar Pujara had achieved this big feat in 18 innings.
Jaiswal, who made his Test debut at the age of 21, has so far scored 861 runs in 13 innings of just 7 matches.
So far, he has scored 2 half-centuries, one century and 2 double centuries in Test cricket. Now if he scores 139 runs in the first innings of the Ranchi Test match, he will equal Vinod Kambli's Indian record of scoring 1000 runs in the fewest innings.
