In Ujjain, an old man was murdered and his jewellery and cash were stolen, Nimbahera police caught him in a blockade | News India

Chittorgarh, 31 August (HS). The youth who had murdered an old man in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh and escaped after stealing cash worth 1.5 lakhs and jewellery worth lakhs was caught by the police of Nimbahera Sadar police station of Chittorgarh district in a blockade. A minor has also been detained along with him. The accused was going to Bhilwara after the incident. Ujjain police was informed after the instructions of higher officials. When Ujjain police reached Nimbahera, the accused was handed over to them.

District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi said that under the direction of Nimbahera Sadar Police Officer Sanjay Sharma, the team blocked the Wonder Square. During this, a Swift Desire car with MP number plate was seen coming from Neemuch. When the police stopped them, there were two others in it including the driver, whose activities seemed suspicious. One of them told his name as Dilkhush son of Rameshwar Prajapat, resident of Kankolia under Baneda Police Station of Bhilwara district. When the police interrogated him thoroughly, he told that he had stolen money and jewellery from his grandmother's house in Bada Ramdwara behind Harsiddhi Temple. His grandmother did not know about this. This further deepened the suspicion on both of them.

The police detained them and brought them to the police station and interrogated them thoroughly. It was revealed that Mohanlal Sharma, a retired employee of Ujjain Municipal Corporation, an acquaintance of Dadi, who lived behind the Harsiddhi temple in Ujjain, was killed in his house at night by strangulating him while he was sleeping and inflicting a serious injury on his head with an Imam Dasta. Later, after searching the house, they stole one lakh forty nine thousand rupees in cash, gold jewellery, mandaliya, gold chain, gold rakhi, gold earring, gold ring and silver jewellery, anklets weighing about half a kilo, three silver rings, 07 silver coins from the trunk and fled. On this being revealed, the Nimbahera Sadar police station informed the Ujjain Mahakal police station. When the Ujjain police reached Nimbahera, the accused and the stolen jewellery were handed over to the Ujjain police.
