Lucknow, June 01 (HS). In the seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, voting is going on in 13 seats of UP from 7 am today on Saturday. In the first four hours i.e. till 11 am, the total percentage of voting on these seats has been 29.66 percent. Maharajganj has the highest voting percentage of 29.66 percent while the lowest hot seat Varanasi has 26.13 percent votes. There are queues of voters at the polling stations and peaceful voting is going on.
According to the data released by the Election Commission, in the 13 Lok Sabha general constituencies of UP where voting is being held in the seventh phase, till 11 am, Maharajganj has recorded 29.66 percent voting, Gorakhpur 26.64 percent, Kushinagar 28.06 percent, Deoria 28.10 percent, Bansgaon (reserved) 28.30 percent, Ghosi 27.67 percent, Salempur 27.94 percent, Ballia 27.81 percent, Ghazipur 27.55 percent, Chandauli 29.08 percent, Varanasi 26.13 percent, Mirzapur 29.54 percent and Robertsganj (reserved) 28.09 percent voting. There are queues of voters at the polling stations since morning. In the by-election being held on Duddhi (reserved) assembly seat, 25.60 percent voting has taken place. Amid tight security on all seats, voters will exercise their franchise till 6 pm.
A total of 144 candidates are in the fray in the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of the seventh and last phase, of which 134 are men and 10 are women. In the seventh phase, the highest number of 28 candidates are in Ghosi Lok Sabha constituency and the lowest number of 07 candidates are in Deoria and Varanasi Lok Sabha constituencies. There are 02 crore 50 lakh 56 thousand 877 voters who will decide the fate of 144 candidates including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
