On Tuesday, the Badrinath Highway was closed after a landslide in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. However, this road could not open even on Wednesday. People are facing a lot of trouble due to heavy rains and landslides. In the last 24 hours, 3 people have died due to rain.

The water level of rivers has increased in Assam

The water level of Assam's Brahmaputra and other rivers along its banks has risen. At present, it has reached the danger mark. The flood situation in the state has improved slightly. The number of flood-affected people in 26 districts has come down to more than 17 lakh. On Tuesday also 7 people died. So far this figure has reached 92.

22 people have died in 2 weeks

People in the hilly state of Himachal are also troubled by the rain. 22 people have died in the last 2 weeks. According to information, monsoon arrived in the state on 27 June. Since then, there has been a loss of Rs 172 crore due to rain. Due to landslides, 5 major roads in Mandi district, 4 in Shimla and 3 in Kangra have been closed so far. At the same time, 223 mm of rain has been received in Gujarat so far. This state receives 25 percent of the total rainfall.

Many villages were submerged due to floods in UP

At the same time, many rivers in UP have reached the danger mark. Saryu, Ghaghra and Rapti rivers are flowing above the danger mark. At the same time, 5 people died in flood-related accidents in Balrampur and Lakhimpur. Many villages of Lakhimpur have been badly affected by the flood. More than 125 villages have been submerged. There was no rain in the state on Wednesday, but 52 people died due to lightning.

Orange and red alert in many states today

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in many states today. These include West Bengal, UP, MP, Bihar, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Jammu, Assam and Rajasthan. IMD has declared a red alert in Bihar, Bengal, Sikkim, Meghalaya. Orange alert has been issued in other states.
