IIT Kanpur will give Bright Minds Scholarship to 100 toppers of JEE Advanced

Kanpur, June 09 (HS). The result of JEE Advanced, the exam conducted for Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country, was declared on Sunday. On this occasion, IIT Kanpur congratulated the successful students of JEE Advanced 2024 and announced its prestigious Bright Minds Scholarship. Under this, 100 toppers will be given an annual scholarship of Rs 3 lakh which will continue till the completion of the course. However, this scholarship was started in 2021 and it was announced on Saturday to continue further.

Ved Lahoti has secured the first rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 and female candidate Dwija Dharmesh Kumar Patel has secured the seventh rank. With this, Manya Jain has emerged as the top performer from Kanpur zone, securing All India Rank (AIR) 75. Apart from this, Shubham Nair (AIR 131), Garv Chaudha (AIR 163), Shrestha Gupta (AIR 191) and Siddharth Agarwal (AIR 306) have secured. Among the female candidates, Shrestha Gupta has notably secured AIR 191. On this, IIT Kanpur congratulated all the successful candidates and announced its prestigious Bright Minds Scholarship to the top 100 candidates.

4926 candidates were successful from the zone

Out of 21,634 candidates registered from Kanpur Zone coordinated by IIT Kanpur, 21,169 appeared in the examination and 4,926 successfully cleared it. This is a significant achievement for the zone, reflecting the high standards of preparation and dedication among the students. Prof. Manindra Agarwal, Director, IIT Kanpur, said on Saturday that IIT Kanpur's Bright Minds Scholarship is our commitment to support and nurture the brightest minds of the country, ensuring that financial constraints do not become a hindrance in your academic journey. Under this, each eligible student will get an annual scholarship of Rs 3 lakh, which will cover their expenses during their undergraduate program. The scholarship will be provided for all four years of the UG program, provided the students maintain a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 8.0. This scholarship was started in 2021 on the initiative of alumnus Lokveer Kapoor to ensure that no meritorious student faces financial constraints in their academic pursuits. This year also, the top 100 students will be given this scholarship till the completion of their course.
