Firozabad, July 25 (HS). The court on Thursday sentenced the accused of dowry murder to life imprisonment. He was also fined. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to undergo additional punishment.

Pramod Kumar, a resident of Nagla Chura village of Vasai Mohammadpur police station, got his cousin Sunita married to Ramesh, son of Veer Singh, a resident of Mali Patti. Sunita got her house built in Datuji Khurd area of ​​Linepar police station. She lived there with her husband and daughter. Her husband Ramesh used to put pressure on her to transfer the house in his name. Along with this, he also used to demand dowry. Ramesh killed Sunita on 4 May 2018. He took away her jewellery. Her brother Pramod filed a case against him.

After investigation, the police filed a chargesheet against him in the court. The case was heard in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, FTC Court No. 2 Ravikant Yadav. Assistant District Government Advocate Criminal Ajay Kumar Yadav, who was pleading the case on behalf of the prosecution, said that many witnesses testified during the trial. Many evidences were presented before the court. On the basis of the testimony of the witnesses and evidence, the court held Ramesh guilty. The court has sentenced him to life imprisonment. He has been fined Rs. 8,000. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to undergo an additional sentence of 3 months.
