Purnia, 2 August (HS). Electricity supply has stopped in Purnia. Electricity supply is available only in 20% of the places in the city. The reason is that yesterday evening, only 10 minutes of storm and rain devastated the city. Till the time of writing this news, hundreds of years old banyan, peepal and many other trees have fallen on the road in dozens of roads of the city. Somewhere the transformer and somewhere the electricity pole is broken. Somewhere the tree has fallen on a vehicle and somewhere on someone's house.
Traffic is still disrupted due to the falling of big trees on many main roads in the city. However, the electricity department and other departments are constantly engaged in fixing everything. Due to the lack of electricity, the general public is facing a lot of trouble. Many kids play schools have been closed as a precaution. The falling of trees at places like Line Bazar Shiv Mandir, Neva Lal Chowk, DIG Chowk, Bai Pass, Rambagh, Madhubani, Khushkibaag etc. in the city has affected the power supply a lot. Electricity department officials said that we are working day and night and soon everything will be fixed.
