How was the performance of the Indian team in the last T20 World Cup played in the West Indies?

There is not much time left for the next T20 World Cup 2024 to be jointly hosted by West Indies and USA. 20 teams will play for the first time in this mega event, which have been divided into four groups of 5 each. The Indian team is part of Group A which includes teams from Ireland, Canada and USA apart from Pakistan. Team India has to play its first three matches of the tournament in the USA and after qualifying for the Super-8, it has to play more matches in the West Indies. In 2010, the Indian team under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni reached West Indies to play T20 World Cup. In which, it made its debut in Group-C with a one-sided victory by 7 wickets against Afghanistan and then in the second match, it defeated South Africa by 14 runs and confirmed its place in Super-8. In this stage, Team India first lost to Australia by 49 runs and then had to face defeat by 14 runs against West Indies. The last match of the Indian team in Super-8 was against the Sri Lankan team and they lost by 5 wickets and the journey of the Indian team in this World Cup ended here.

Team India has played 14 T20 matches in West Indies so far, out of which it has won 7 matches and lost 7 matches. On the other hand, Indian team has played 8 T20 International matches in America so far and has won 5 of them, while it has faced defeat in only 2 matches.
