The Women's Premier League 2024 has reached its conclusion. In the final match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Delhi Capitals by eight wickets. This year WPL got a new champion. Mumbai Indians had won this title last year. Do you know how much money the Women's Premier League title winner Royal Challengers Bangalore team and runner-up Delhi Capitals team received this year?
Like IPL, Women's Premier League also showers money on the winning team. You can guess this from the fact that the prize money of the Women's Premier League is double that of the winning team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
PSL lags behind Women's Premier League
Mumbai Indians, the winning team of Women's Premier 2023, received a prize money of Rs 6 crore for winning the trophy. Runner-up Delhi team got Rs 3 crore. Similarly, this time also the winning team Royal Challengers Bangalore was given Rs 6 crore while the runner-up team Delhi Capitals was given Rs 3 crore. This time the winning team in PSL will get 120 million Pakistani rupees i.e. 3.5 crore rupees in Indian rupees, which will be almost half of the WPL and slightly more than the runner-up team. The runner-up team in PSL will get Rs 1.4 crore. Which is exactly half of the Women's Premier League runner-up team. The PSL final will be played on March 18.
The winning team in IPL gets this much money
The prize money in WPL is much less than IPL. Last year, Chennai Super Kings team, which became IPL champion, received Rs 20 crore as prize money. Runner-up Gujarat Titans got a check of Rs 12.5 crore. However, if we compare the amount paid to the champion team in the Women's Premier League with the Pakistan Super League (PSL), there is a huge difference. The winning team in the Women's Premier League gets almost double the amount as the PSL champion.
