Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh traveled to Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran's newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian. He was assassinated at the guesthouse of the Iranian army's IRGC where he was staying. But now the shocking news has come that the bomb that killed Haniyeh was smuggled into Tehran two months ago.

According to the New York Times report, the remote-controlled bomb used to kill Ismail Haniya was planted two months ago in a room of a guesthouse in Tehran where Haniya was staying. This information has been given in the report by several officials, including two members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This new disclosure is completely different from the initial reports which said that Haniya was killed in a missile attack.

The report quoted several Iranian officials as saying that Haniya's killing in Tehran was “shameful” for the IRGC, which operates the guesthouse where Haniya and other dignitaries stayed. Haniya stayed at the IRGC compound called Neshahat in Tehran. The compound is used for secret meetings and to accommodate high-profile guests like Haniya.

How did the explosion happen
IRGC officials say that Haniya died in a bomb explosion. This bomb was remote controlled. Due to the explosion, a part of the wall of the guest house compound collapsed. The windows broke. However, the room next to Haniya did not suffer much damage due to this explosion. Ziad Nakhleh, the leader of Palestine Islamic Jihad, lived in that room. This makes it clear that Haniya was murdered under a foolproof plan.

According to reports, Haniya's room was bombed when the medical staff of the complex reached there at around 2:00 am local time. Haniya was declared dead on the spot. Haniya's bodyguard was also declared dead. Khalil al-Haya, a senior Hamas official, also reached the spot. Where he saw Haniya's body. After this, IRGC Quds Force commander Ismail Ghani immediately woke up Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and told him that Haniya had been killed.

The report quoted an official as saying that such explosions require months of planning and monitoring. Some Iranian officials say they do not know how and when the bomb was brought into Haniya's room. But some officials associated with the Middle East say that this bug was planted in Haniya's room two months ago. The report also said that the type of bomb that precisely targeted Haniya appeared to be operated by remote control. This type of bomb was used by Israel's Mossad to kill Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsin in 2020.

Israel's silence
Iran has blamed Israel for the death of Ismail Haniya in Tehran. But Israel has neither confirmed nor denied the attack. Then Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered the Iranian army to attack Israel. Khamenei ordered the attack after an emergency meeting of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.

Let us tell you here that earlier on April 13, when Iran attacked Israel with drones and missiles, Syria and Iraq also jumped into it. At the same time, Lebanon's Iran-backed radical group Hezbollah also attacked the Israeli military base in Syria. After this order to attack Iran, a statement has also come from Israel. Israeli Air Force Commander Major General Tomer Bar said that the Air Force protects and attacks the country on every front of war. We are ready to give a strong response in any situation. We will give a befitting reply to anyone planning to harm Israel and Israeli citizens. There is no place beyond our reach that we cannot attack.
