Two prisoners were killed and three were injured in a prison attack in Honduras. In this incident, a total of 72 prisoners tried to escape from the prison in Tamara city, about 30 kilometers from Honduras' capital Tegucigalpa. However, they did not tell how they got injured.
Take control of the situation now
According to the information, now the situation in the Honduras jail is calm and the matter has been settled. The jail administration said that there is no jail in the world where this has not happened. At around four in the morning, the prisoners locked themselves in a part of the jail so that the attention of the people going there gets diverted.
Riots broke out in the women's prison in the city of Tamara
The prison system said a forensic examination would be carried out to dispel any speculation. Last year, a riot broke out at a women's prison in the city of Tamara, leaving 46 women dead.
Demand for change in prison system
The massacre led to calls for reform of the country's prison system and debate over whether Honduras should emulate the no-privilege prisons established by Vice President Bukele in neighboring El Salvador.
Construction of a new and bigger prison
In June, Honduras President Xiomara Castro announced the construction of a new 20,000-capacity prison as part of a major government crackdown on sectarian violence and efforts to reform a long-troubled prison system.
