Hockey: Big change in Indian women's hockey team, Salima becomes captain in place of Sunita

There have been major changes in the Indian women's hockey team. Midfielder Salima Tete has been made the captain of the team in place of Savita Punia. Salima has been named captain of India's 24-member squad for the Belgium and England leg of the FIH Pro League to be played later this month. Navneet Kaur will be the vice president. Savita led India in the Olympic qualifiers and Pro-League matches. Matches will be played in Belgium from 22 to 26 May and in England from 1 to 9 June. In the first phase, India will face Argentina and Belgium twice. Matches will be played against Britain and Germany in the London phase. India is currently ranked sixth in the Pro-League.

Forward: Mumtaz Khan, Sangeeta Kumari, Deepika, Sharmila Devi, Preeti Dubey, Vandana Kataria, Sunelita Toppo, Deepika Soreng.
