Sonbhadra, 28 August (HS). Writer and journalist Hemant Sharma will be awarded the Thakur Prasad Singh Smriti Sahitya Samman 2024. Along with this, he will be given a citation and a sum of Rs 51 thousand.
Dr Ajay Kumar Singh, the chief trustee of Maa Sharda Shiksha Evam Seva Trust, said that the 'Thakur Prasad Singh Smriti Sahitya Samman' established by Maa Sharda Shiksha Evam Seva Trust in the memory of litterateur Thakur Prasad Singh is awarded to a senior litterateur every year. Apart from Chief Trustee Dr Ajay Kumar Singh, Prof Pushpesh Pant (JNU), Prof Kailash Narayan Tiwari (Delhi University), eminent critic Prof Ram Sudhar Singh and famous Lalit essayist Dr Umesh Prasad Singh were included in the said selection.
Dr Ajay Kumar Singh said that Hemant Sharma is a great essayist of the present times. His language is amazing on the basis of sentiment, information and communication. His essays are full of freshness and simplicity of the essay tradition of Bharatendu era. He is the real deserving of this award. This honour will be given in a grand ceremony to be held in Vindhya Kanya Mahavidyalaya Robertsganj in the month of November. During this, he will be honoured with a citation and a sum of Rs. 51 thousand. In the end, he congratulated and wished Hemant Sharma on being selected for the honour.
