Hamas military chief Mohammad Daif has been killed in an Israeli airstrike. Daif's death was rumored for a long time but Israeli forces confirmed it on Thursday. It is being claimed that Mohammad Daif was killed in an airstrike in Khan Younis, Gaza on 13 July.
Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh, military chief Mohammad Daif and Gaza chief Yahya Sinwar played a key role in the attack on Israel on October 7. After the killing of Haniyeh and Daif, only Sinwar is left in the top leadership of Hamas. 58-year-old Daif, the so-called Osama bin Laden of Gaza, was the mastermind of this attack. He named the attack 'Al Aqsa flood'. Born in 1965 in Gaza's Khan Younis refugee camp, Daif has been the head of Hamas' military wing since 2002. He was at the top of Israel's most wanted list for years. Daif's wife, three-year-old daughter and seven-month-old son were killed in an Israeli attack in 2014.
