BCCI and SAI will take affidavit from sports persons: Now no player of the country will be seen advertising alcohol or smoking. Dr. Atul Goyal, Director General of Health of the Central Government, has written a letter to BCCI and Sports Authority of India and directed the players to take an oath immediately. In the letter, Dr. Goyal wrote that players, especially cricketers, are role models for the youth of the country. They can inspire the youth to lead a healthy lifestyle. However, unfortunately, our sports legends are seen advertising cigarettes, bidis or pan masala.

The Director General of Health has requested the support of the government in its resolve to keep the country's population healthy before the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Roger Binny. He has appealed that such advertisements should not be broadcast during IPL and other cricket tournaments. Apart from this, the players will also have to take an oath to stay away from these advertisements. Dr. Goyal advised that the BCCI player should write an affidavit in which he has promised to stay away from these advertisements. Director General of Sports Authority of India, Sandeep Pradhan has also been appealed to take such a step.
