The Canadian government has given a big shock to the citizens. Often citizens keep paying taxes on the things they buy or use. This includes small to big products and public property. But have you ever heard about rain tax? A similar tax is going to be implemented in Toronto, Canada. Actually, 'Rain Tax' is going to be implemented in Canada from next month. This has been announced by the Government of Canada. Storm water management has been a major problem in almost all of Canada, including Toronto, for the past few years. Due to which people's daily work has also been affected.
The government has taken this decision in view of the continuous problems being faced by common citizens. In view of the increasing problems of the people, the government has created a storm water drainage system. The excess water collected will be drained out through this system. Canada receives heavy rainfall during the rainy season. Not only this, due to melting of snow in winter, water also spreads all around. In cities, everything from houses to roads is made of concrete. In such a situation, the water does not dry quickly and later flows on the roads. Due to which the problem of blockage of roads and drains starts arising.
The matter becomes even more serious during the rainy season, because water starts entering the houses through drains. There is a risk of many serious diseases due to this. To deal with the runoff problem, Toronto administration has negotiated storm water charges and water service charge consultations. It is being told that the government can implement this rule on residential buildings as well as offices, hotels etc.
Let us tell you that after the introduction of this rule of the government, resentment among the common citizens has increased a lot. Today, Torontonians still pay water taxes. In such a situation, the new cost of storm water management is becoming unbearable for them. It is believed that the new rule will further increase the cost of people visiting storm water areas. Apart from this, people of densely populated areas will also be burdened. Due to less space the water does not dry quickly.
