Nawada, 2 August (HS). Ganja is being sold openly in the shops of rural areas including Nawada city. After the liquor ban, the increasing addiction of narcotics drug ganja among the youth has ruined their lives. Police and administrative officials are not working properly in this direction. Due to which the situation remains serious. Ganja is being sold openly in many shops of Purani Kachhari Road near Nawada city police station. Despite this, police officials are not taking any action against them.
The lives of the youth are being ruined by smoking and puffing the smoke of ganja. Paper packets of ganja are being sold in shops as if they are some ordinary thing, lemon drops or cold drinks, which clearly means that ganja is easily available in the city. Even though alcohol is banned in Bihar, ganja has now completely taken over the place of alcohol. This is not just an issue of the poor; the youth of the upper society are also getting involved in it. The responsibility of stopping the sale of drugs lies with the Narcotics Department and the police, but they are often unable to reach small towns. Despite the vigilance of the local police, the sale of ganja is not being controlled.
Ganja packets are being sold openly in certain streets. There are many incidents of ganja being seized during raids on bhang shops. Now the time has come to curb the sale of illegal drugs by running a strict campaign.
Every member of the society will have to come together to find a solution to this serious problem and take steps towards giving the youth a safe and healthy future. The youth are ruining their future by consuming drugs, the number of youth in road accidents is also increasing, some are getting into accidents by consuming ganja and riding bikes at high speed limit. Many are becoming victims of serious diseases.
