Ganga water level may rise above warning point in Kanpur, appeal to move to safe place | News India

Kanpur, 18 September (HS). The water level at Ganga Barrage has been increasing for the past two days. There is a possibility that the water level may rise above the danger mark. In such a situation, people living in the coastal areas of Ganga are appealed to move to safer places.

Ganga Barrage Construction Block-2 Kanpur Executive Engineer Pankaj Gautam said on Wednesday that due to increase in the water level of Ganga river, people of Lodhwa Kheda, Chaunpurva, Dharamkheda, Devnipurva, Naya Basti, Mangalpurva, Ram Nihalpur, Meghan Purva, Kallu Purva and Kachchi Madaiya villages situated on the left bank of Ganga river below the barrage and people living on the right bank are appealed to move to safer places.

There is a possibility that the water level of the river at Ganga Barrage may rise above the danger mark of 114.00 meters in the next two days. He has appealed to the villagers to immediately stay away from the river banks and move to a safe place in time.
