Ganesh Chaturthi holiday in stock market, trading in SCX will start from 5 pm

New Delhi, 19 September (HIST). Today is a holiday in the domestic stock market due to Ganesh Chaturthi. Today all segments of the stock market including equity, SLB and derivatives are closed. However, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will open at 5 pm for the evening session. This information has been uploaded by Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on its website.

Due to Ganesh Chaturthi holiday, there will be no trading in currency derivatives segment. Similarly, there will be no trading in the commodity derivatives segment and electronic gold receipt segment today in the day’s session. But trading in both these segments will continue in the evening session. After the Ganesh Chaturthi holiday, the next holiday in the stock market will be on 2nd October i.e. the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Before this, on the last trading day i.e. Monday, BSE Sensex had closed at the level of 67,596.84 points with a weakness of 241.79 points or 0.36 percent. Similarly, NSE’s Nifty ended Monday’s trading at 20,133.30 points with a decline of 59.05 points or 0.29 percent.
