News India Live, Digital Desk: We all know that train travel is not only cheap but also comfortable. But the coming few months are going to be full of challenges for the passengers traveling on Ranchi-Lohardaga-Tori route. South Eastern Railway has announced that the operation of trains on Lohardaga rail route will remain closed till March 2026.
After all, why did the Railways take such a big decision?
When any track is closed for a long time, the motive behind it is for future convenience. Actually, yard remodeling and non-interlocking (NI) work is going on in full swing at Lohardaga railway station. In simple words, the appearance of the tracks is being changed and the signal system is being modernized so that in the future, more trains can pass through here at even higher speed.
What will be the impact on passengers?
The biggest problem will be faced by those people who go from Ranchi to Lohardaga and Chatra-Latehar every day for work or studies. With the wheels of local trains coming to a halt, the entire pressure will now come on the roads. Fares for buses and private vehicles can be heavy on people’s pockets. The time till March is long, hence crowding on alternative routes is certain to increase.
What is the way forward?
Railways says that this work is essential for the safety of passengers and better connectivity in future. However, the exact date when this block will open will be clear only around March. Railways advises that passengers should check the status on the official website of Railways or National Train Inquiry System (NTES) before leaving to avoid any confusion.
A little advice while passing by…
If your journey is very important, then book your bus or shared cab well in time, because closure of trains will increase the burden on road transport and it may be difficult to get a seat at the last moment.
