Four members of the Hinduja family sentenced to four and a half years in jail for exploiting domestic servants

Swiss court sentences Hinduja to imprisonment : A Swiss court has sentenced four members of the Indian-origin Hinduja family to four and a half years in prison. All four members have been found guilty of abusing and torturing a domestic help. All the members of the court have also been accused of human trafficking.

The servants were taken and kept in the villa

All four members of the Hinduja family convicted by the court are of Indian origin. Prakash Hinduja, his wife, son and daughter-in-law have been convicted by the court. They have been accused of human trafficking. These four people took the domestic helpers there through human trafficking. The Hinduja family lured all the victims of trafficking and took them to Switzerland. There were reports that the family kept domestic helpers in a luxury lakeside villa in Geneva.

During the hearing in the court, the manager appeared in place of the family

During the hearing of the case, all four members of the Hinduja family did not appear and their manager Najeeb Jiyaji appeared on their behalf. The court said that all four members of the family are responsible for the exploitation and illegal employment of domestic helpers. The family has also been accused of confiscating the passports of the workers and not paying them on time. The domestic helpers were paid not in Swiss currency but in Indian rupees. Not only this, all the employees were not paid salaries. Everyone was kept in the villa and was not even allowed to go out.
