Prayagraj, 26 August (HS). The village head died on the spot after being hit by a dumper near the TCI intersection on Rewan Road in the Naini police station area of the district. While his companion riding on the bike was seriously injured. The driver fled with the dumper after the accident. The police have started searching for him.
Amritlal Bhartiya (55), former village head of Neebi village under Chaka block of Naini police station area was going to the city on Monday afternoon with his companion on a bike. A speeding dumper hit the bike near TCI intersection on Rewa highway. Due to which the head and the young man riding the bike with him were thrown away. After this, the dumper driver ran over the head who had fallen on the road and fled.
After the incident, a crowd of people gathered on the spot. There was a traffic jam on the road for some time. Police has reached the spot. On getting information about the incident, the family members became distraught. The youth injured in the accident has been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Naini police says that the dumper is being traced. Action will be taken as soon as the complaint is received.
