Ghaziabad, 27 August (HS). The MP-MLA court on Tuesday granted regular bail to former Dhaulana MLA Aslam Chaudhary and two other accused Zubair Tata and his brother, who were arrested from Roorkee by Mussoorie police on Sunday. On Monday, the court had released Aslam Chaudhary on interim bail.

The court had recently issued non-bailable warrants against Aslam Chaudhary and Zubair Tata and his brother in the case of demanding extortion of Rs 2 crore. The hearing of the case was going on in the MP-MLA court. Aslam Chaudhary was elected MLA from BSP. Later he joined the Samajwadi Party. He contested the last assembly elections from the Samajwadi Party.

He is accused that on 7 September 2022, he, along with his associates, tried to occupy land worth crores through a fake agreement. It is alleged that Rs 2 crore was demanded from the land owner Adil Yamin in exchange for giving up this possession. On 3 September 2023, the Police Commissioner took cognizance of the matter and lodged a report in this regard, on the basis of which the police filed a charge sheet. The court issued a non-bailable warrant against Aslam Chaudhary and his associates, after which the Mussoorie Police arrested him from Roorkee on Sunday. On Monday afternoon, Aslam Chaudhary was produced in the court of Duty Magistrate Adarsh ​​Kumar. Where on Tuesday, Aslam Chaudhary's interim bail was approved.

On Tuesday, the advocate of Aslam Chaudhry, Zuber Tata and his brother filed an application in the MP-MLA court for granting regular bail to all three. After hearing the application, the court granted bail to all three late in the evening.
