Sudan Crisis: Heartbreaking news has emerged from the war-torn African country Sudan. Women struggling to survive in Sudan's Omdurman city say they are being forced to have sex with soldiers to get food.
Women allege that Sudanese soldiers were giving them food and water only after having sex. In such a situation, a large number of women have to stand in queue. Actually, due to civil war, the economic condition in Sudan is bad and people are also facing food crisis.
More than two dozen women who failed to flee the war in Omdurman said that the only option they had to protect themselves was to have sex with Sudanese army soldiers. According to the Guardian report citing the victims, the army soldiers forced a large number of women to stand in a line to quench their physical fire and then have sex with them. In return, those women get some food and water, with which they feed themselves and their families.
The women said most of the sexual assaults took place in factory areas where soldiers had raided and seized large quantities of food. One woman told the Guardian she had no choice but to have sex with soldiers to provide food for her elderly parents and children.
