FIR registered against 18 named and 500 unidentified in stone pelting case, 25 in custody


Ranchi, 17 February (HS). On Saturday, a case has been registered against 18 named and 500 unidentified people in connection with the incident of stone pelting on the procession going to immerse the idol of Saraswati Puja in Nagdi. This case has been registered on the statement of the zonal officer.

In the case registered, there was a fierce clash between two groups after sudden stone pelting near the mosque. About six people have been injured in this, including two policemen. In this sequence, on Saturday, rural SP Manish Toppo, SDO Utkarsh Kumar, BDO, CO took out a flag march in the area along with RP jawans. Officers and soldiers appealed to the people to maintain peace during the flag march. Police personnel are deployed in the entire area. Rural SP said that Section 144 is in force in the entire area. 25 people have been detained in the case. Everyone is being interrogated. Action will be taken against the culprits as per law. Police force has been deployed in the entire area.

It is noteworthy that on Friday night, there was stone pelting between two groups over the dispute that took place during the immersion of the idol in Nagdi. Two policemen and four-five common people were also injured in this.
