Father gets life imprisonment for killing two children | News India

Jaunpur, August 13 (HS). The court of Additional Sessions Judge II Mohammad Shariq Siddiqui on Tuesday sentenced the father who murdered two innocent children in a domestic quarrel 7 years ago, to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000.

According to the prosecution story, Ramkhelavan, a chowkidar resident of Lasa village of Mirganj police station area, filed a report to the effect that Sandeep Kohar, a resident of his village, often had quarrels with his wife Laxmina. On 19 July 2017, he injured his wife Laxmina, three-year-old son Kanhaiya and two-year-old daughter Rimjhim by chopping them with an axe. He also injured himself by stabbing himself with scissors. Kanhaiya and Rimjhim later died.

The police investigated and presented the chargesheet in the court. After examining the statements of the witnesses examined by Assistant District Government Advocate Lal Bahadur Pal and the evidence available on the file, the court found the father guilty of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 50,000. If the fine is not paid, there will be an additional imprisonment of one year.
