Fake medicines worth one lakh seized from medical store in Moradabad


Moradabad, May 20 (HS). The drug department team on Monday raided an illegally operating medical store in Dhakiya of Dilari police station area. Fake medicines worth Rs 1 lakh have been seized. Also, samples of three suspected drugs were sent for testing.

Drug inspectors Mukesh Jain and Urmila Verma said that a medical store was running without a license outside the Good Life Nursing Home in Dhakiya area. On Monday, they raided the medical store and asked for the license from Ashraf, a Sihali resident present here, but he could not show it. During the action, samples of three suspicious medicines stored at the store have been sent for testing. Fake medicines worth Rs 1 lakh have been seized. The operator could not show any purchase and sale bills of medicines on the spot.

He said that the medicines have been sent for testing. After receiving the investigation report, investigation will be completed under the relevant sections of the Drugs Act 1940 and a complaint will be filed against the shop operator in the court.
