Mainpuri, 01 August (HS). During checking by the police of Bichhwan police station and SWAT team of the district, the miscreants of a cunning gang of thieves riding on an auto opened fire. While the police defended themselves, a gangster miscreant got shot in the leg in the encounter and got injured. The police has started taking action by admitting the injured miscreant to the hospital.
Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar said that on late Wednesday night, Bichhwan police station in-charge Avnish Tyagi and SWAT team were checking vehicles. During this, some youths were seen coming in an auto near Nagla Pal. When they were signaled to stop, they turned the auto and started firing and running away. The police team surrounded the criminals and had an encounter with them. During this, a criminal got injured after being shot in the leg. The police caught him. During interrogation, the arrested criminal turned out to be Irfan Banjara, a vicious gangster criminal living in Aliganj police station area of Etah. The criminal injured after being shot in the leg has been admitted to the hospital.
SP said that cases of gangster, cow slaughter, theft etc. are registered against the arrested miscreant in Mainpuri, Etah, Kasganj districts. During interrogation, it was found that he had committed the theft by targeting a house in Bhavichandpur village with his gang. He has confessed to the crime of stealing a single barrel gun and jewellery from there. A stolen gun and a 315 pistol and cartridges etc. have been recovered from his possession.
